No problems with my 2016. Maybe do a system reset.

Chances are the APIM which controls the touchscreen has gone bad, you are not the first.

Yep, bad APIM. Let me guess... it started being kinda slow, maybe had some audio dropouts on the Bluetooth, maybe showed GPS unlock on the Nav screen? Now it's reached a point where it goes catatonic for 10+ seconds, then suddenly accepts all the commands you entered before going catatonic again? I went through two APIMs in my 2016, same symptoms.

Can you describe what you mean by slow? I have the Sync 2 system and it's slow-ish. As in, it takes half a second to respond but it's always been like that. What I hate the most is when typing in an address into the NAV. You have to wait minimum one full second between each letter while it thinks. I was used to it. Then I used the Nav in my wife's new Rogue and you can type and touch the screen as fast as you can and it reacts instantly. Makes the Sync system feel like something from the 90's...

TVsjr , that is exactly what it is doing. I just got this truck and it only has 19,000 miles. Don't make me regret this Ford ! Always scared to take it in to fix something because many times they create other problems. Second trip to dealer in two weeks Still has warranty 3/30.

Default Apim bad

I had the freezing screen and GPS not working correctly issue last year and had to replace the APIM. Cost almost $1000 but you get a 2 year warranty. Now my screen is flashing off and on and APIM was giving a communication error code so they replaced it free under the warranty but it did not fix the flashing screen. They said it has to be the screen and that is $500 to fix.
