Default Is it too late to change order code?

I placed an order for a 2015 F-150 Platinum on August 28. The dealer said I am better off as a priority 10 than priority 20. Even after he went to the Ford event in Vegas he claimed I am better off as the 10. Obviously I don't think that is the case based on what I have read here. I don't have a VIN or anything yet.

Does anyone think I should have him change it or am I better off staying at 10 since its been almost a month??

They absolutely should change the order from a Priority 10 to a Priority 20. I argued this point with my dealer and finally they called their Ford rep and sure enough Priority 20 is Dealer Stock. Under normal circumstances a Priority 10 would trump a Priority 20, but right now the first trucks out the factory will be Dealer Stock Priority 20.
The Dealers are misinformed and if you go down that road with Priority 10 you will be waiting until February for your truck. I found it strange that almost all of the guys that ordered from 7/28/2014 till now with the Priority 20 orders already have build dates and VIN numbers and the others with the priority 10's are holding on to nothing, but you know what!!

By the way I ordered mine on 8/20/2014 and yesterday my Dealer made a new order Priority 20 for the same truck. I would bet the price of the new truck that the Priority 20 will get here first. I am kind of pissed off that they fooled around for 30 days and finally saw the light. They are like Pavlov's Dog when it comes to change.

Have them put in a duplicate order under priority 20. Chances are, you'll still get a VIN on the new P20 order before your original P10 order.

MP, did you get your build date and VIN yet?

I'm going to email him now and see what he says.

I don't have an F-150 now and I am seriously contemplating buying a 2014 to drive until the 2015 gets here.

I have the VIN--I haven't circled back on the build date yet. However, once the VIN is set, the build date is also set.

Mine was ordered as a Priority 20.

I'm in the same boat. I talked with my dealer about taking one of their 2014's until my 2015 arrives, but there wasn't any convenient way to structure a deal to allow me to turn in the 2014 at a guaranteed trade-in value (and there was no way to lease it for a few months). I didn't want to get stuck paying the drive-off-the-lot depreciation on a vehicle that I only wanted for a few months.

In the end, we ended up juggling some household vehicles (because I had already sold my previous car last spring).

The only thing I have going for me is d-plan pricing which might absorb the depreciation of the 2014 a little. If my dealer won't change to priority 20 I guess that will make up my mind real quick!

How does D-plan compare with A-plan or X-plan? (I have A-plan)
