Today's Dumb Sync Question: Which Do I Have?
Ok, this is probably something so glaringly obvious that everyone will look at my post and ask "How did he ever get to 'Senior Member' status?"
But I don't know what version Sync I have. I've read lots of threads about Sync 2 vs. Sync 3, but when I go into my radio settings and look at mine, it tells me I have version 5.9. (I just updated it from 5.8 today. The Ford instructions left A LOT to be desired.)
So, can someone please tell me how to know what I have? I don't think I have MFT (My Ford Touch) because I don't have a touch screen. But then I don't know if that's pertinent.
I have a 2015 XLT with the small, non-touch screen. It's AM/FM/CD/Sirius. I've got a line in jack and a USB jack.
I'm guessing there won't be any further updates to my setup as this one looks like it's been out there for over a year.

Sync 2. Sync 3 became available in 2016.

You can probably google the differences and find more than I could explain. Sync 3 is a completely new system and looks nothing like Sync 2.

Ah, ok, it's not just a software update. Thanks. I listen to music and voice dial. I probably am not greatly affected. About the only difference between my version 5.8 to 5.9 that I found on the Ford page was the addition of a (voice) "Redial" command. About the only thing I will add to my repertoire.

Post a picture. You may just have the basic sync not 2 or 3

It would still be Sync 2, but probably not include MFT.

No. The basic Sync is a small screen which shows limited characters, then a non-touch screen (called My Ford), then the My Ford Touch. My Fusion has Sync 1 and the tiny display (like a calculator, 2 lines I think). My F-150 has My Ford with Sync 2, no touch.
