275/60 r20 back to responsible adult 😊
I just lived this out. I put on a TOYO AT2 305/55 R20 which is E rated. It absolutely ruined the ride and feel if the truck, killed the power and upset the balance of the truck. Looked sexy! Lucky for me, the tire shop swapped them right out for a 275/60 R20 Toyo AT 2. The ride and feel cane back instantly. They are a softer shouldered tire and don’t look as sexy. I could not find a 285 or 295 in a P-metric light truck AT tire in the profile I was looking for with my level lift. Looks pretty lame now but at least the ride is back. And they are very nice and quiet on the freeway in comparison to the 305s. Those were horrible for this truck
Such a good point and observation. Thanks for chiming in.
Which brings up some good questions. Toyo makes a few versions of this tire. 2 that are 305/50 and 2 that are 305/55.
The 2 that are 305/50 are both "XL" rated, which from what I can tell is just a bit firmer than a P rated tire and a lot less firm than an E rated (10-ply). Then there's the F rated which is 12-ply. I don't even want to be in the same room as those.

Did you consider trying the 305/50 non E rated tire before reverting back to the 275/60?
In your pics, are those the 305's or 275's?

Good find. I did not. The 305/50 is the same height as a 275/55 and I was concerned they would look like short steam roller tires. I also was in retreat mode. I wanted something that had less rolling resistance on the road so I went back to a 275. The difference in their road manners is night and day. I would probably have gone back to a Hancook with all things considered. Better looking tire in the 275/60. I am also noticing it is pulling more boost on cruise control freeway drives now with the new Toyo's on which tells me they don't roll as nice as the Hancooks. The top 2-pics are of the 305s', the bottom one is of the 275/60's on it. Sorry , how this site posts the descriptions and pics is a little confusing. Hard to make it all come together with a phone
