E rated tires are going to ride like a tank. I have d rated tires set at 48 psi and there stiff. I'd go p rated if you do not tow a lot

48 psi seems awfully high, I was running 40 psi in my P rated Hankooks and they were wearing a bit more in center.

305s

Sex change with 305s

275/60 r20 back to responsible adult 😊
I just lived this out. I put on a TOYO AT2 305/55 R20 which is E rated. It absolutely ruined the ride and feel if the truck, killed the power and upset the balance of the truck. Looked sexy! Lucky for me, the tire shop swapped them right out for a 275/60 R20 Toyo AT 2. The ride and feel cane back instantly. They are a softer shouldered tire and don’t look as sexy. I could not find a 285 or 295 in a P-metric light truck AT tire in the profile I was looking for with my level lift. Looks pretty lame now but at least the ride is back. And they are very nice and quiet on the freeway in comparison to the 305s. Those were horrible for this truck

You're telling me that a mud terrain tire has less noise than an all terrain and an all terrain/mud terrain hybrid tire?

Trail

Terra

Ridge

I just watched a couple of Stage 3 tire reviews that said the Toyo Open Country AT2 is noisy and the Ridge Grappler is quiet on pavement.

I did post that, and I erred. It should be:

Level of road noise for the Nittos are:

Trail > Ridge > Terra G2 > Dura

I just went from 275-55-20 OEM GY Kevlars to BFG KO2 and now back to the OEM GY.... The KO2 perform great in the snow and are quiet, but the ride is horrible....

Because I loved the look of the KO2, and hate the look of the GY, I'm thinking of trying the Conti Terrain Contact AT.

They should give the ride and quietness like OEM with a more aggressive look.

OP - if you are/were happy with the Hankooks....why not just replace with them? They will be BY FAR the least expensive option.

At 11k miles I replaced my stock hankook (275/55/20) with Ridge Grap (285/65/20). So, I went from an p rated to an e rated. The ride is definitely more "truck-y" . I also changed the coilovers and shocks in the back to bilstein - I went with 6112 in front and 5100 in back.

My ride is nice and smooth, I do feel road seems more; but there isn't noise. If I"m honest with myself, I prefered the ride with the Bilsteins and the stock hankooks to this. But, these Ridge Graps look much better and give the truck the right stance.

With as many of us replacing tires for "looks" - I can't understand why a tire company can't make a larger P rated tire. Seems like they're missing an opportunity.

That was my error, I probably got you confused. I said Trail but meant Terra. To me the Terra has the same noise as factory.

I've had the Toyo's on my rig for about 7k miles now and I love them. No traction of performance issues at all. I don't think you'll go wrong with what ever you decide on though.
