Default Tint question

So I’m getting my windows tinted tomorrow on my 18. Im getting the front 2 matched to the back and a visor strip on the windshield. My question is, how big are you guys going on the visor strip?

well if you go past the AS1 line, many states will not allow you to pass inspection/give you a tint ticket.

I've always done 6" though.

Im not worried about that. No inspection here. I was thinking 6” but wasn’t sure where it’d end up with the curvature

There are 2 different ways to cut an eyebrow. One is where it ends up straight across and the other curves up in the center and you loose coverage, have them do the first.

That’s exactly the way mine is done, love it. I wouldn’t do it any other way.

In Texas you must be above the AS1 line. If you do not have an AS1 line it cannot be more than 5 inches from the top of the windshield

Mine is 2inches below the legal marker. I wish I would have gone 3, but not unhappy with it. (Not sure why it shows up purple n the photo, but it's black)

Close.. there are a few additional rules:
  1. Sunscreening devices must be applied above the AS-1 line. If there is no AS-1 line, sunscreening devices must end five inches below the top of the windshield.
  2. Sunscreening devices may not be red, amber, or blue in color.
  3. Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a light transmittance value of 25% or more.
  4. Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a luminous reflectance value of 25% or less.
  5. A clear (un-tinted) UV film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without a medical exemption being required.
