Default Time to upgrade

Decided to upgrade to the new body F150. I'll be picking up a 2017 Lariat special edition this Saturday. So I'll be frequenting the 15+ forums.

It has the panoramic roof, where do these drain?

I will also need to replace my Corsa exhaust. I absolutely loved my Corsa DB I had on my last truck. Dose anyone have Corsa on there truck? Need to decide if I want the DB again or the more expensive sport and if I want resonator delete or not.

Please make sure that pano roof works without a hitch. For some folks here, where it drains is the least of their pano roof concerns. Numerous threads on this topic in the 2015+ forum. While I don't have a pano roof, it is a rather frequent topic. Not to say that most of them are bad, as only a small percent of F150 owners are on this site. But gathering as much info from others who have dealt with the pano roof may be helpful. If you haven't already, I'd recommend that you search the forum for threads about the pano roof. Some have employed a variety of self improvements and hacks to live with it and others have had no issues. I wish you well and welcome to the newer gen.

They drain down each of the A and C pillars. If you want you can test at the dealership easily enough by pouring water into the trays and see if it drains. due to the natural slope of the roof, you may need to be facing uphill slightly to test the rear drains.

Before you even open the roof, i would test drive on various road conditions. If you open it first, it may relieve the sticking seal and you will think all is fine. I do have a roof, and while i love it, it is also noisy. if i "vent" the roof and the re close, it helps for sometimes 2 days, sometimes 30 seconds. the issue is that the window will "stick" to the seals. As the cab flexes from uneven/rough roads, you will hear the noise i am talking about.

the cure for this is to frequently clean and lubricate the seals. I use krytox great as Ford recommends.... it is NOT cheap! but, it lasts a long time. I do mine about every 2 months and it only takes about 5 minutes, but YMMV.

The other, worse issue is the window track arms break when trying to open the window. This is caused by that "sticking" seal. if the arms break it can be over 1K to replace them, but many have done it themselves for under 150. It takes a bit of time, but not really that bad. There are better kits available then OEM, most have purchased from sunroof doctor.

I think that if you are ok with cleaning and greasing the seal regularly you will love the window.

Think of your panoramic roof as a big fixed window. Don't ever open it and you should be fine. I opened mine on my '15 Lariat occasionally, and last year the tracks broke which came with a $3K repair. I opened it once after the repair to make sure it worked. It has stayed closed ever since. The tech that did the repair says he sees these on a regular basis. The plastic tracks apparently are just a poor design.

Where can this krytox be purchased? Is it a spray?

Definitely keeping my eye on this thread. I just purchased a 15 lariat with pano roof and 40k miles and my roof would vent, but no slide. Just a hard clunk like the seal was glued shut. Dealer took care of it for me and it works perfectly now. Definitely need to keep up on the maintenance. I see so many people around here with broken roofs.

I love it though. Which is surprising, because I typically despise sunroofs.

**edit: just googled that grease and while it may be the best, there's no way in hell I can justify paying $40-60 per OUNCE for the stuff... that's crazy to me. There has to be other alternatives that work well?

Can’t help with the pano sunroof as I don’t have that option, but can help with the Corsa exhaust.

I have the sport. There’s quite a few threads regarding the exhaust, and most recently a good One that also addresses the resonator.

See here: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/corsa...ouring-454276/

In terms of dB vs sport......even though not marketed as such, I thought they’re technically the same, but the sport has the nicer tip. Same with Corsa’s Volant sister-brand....if i recall, the part numbers are the same, albeit a different first digit to represent the different marketing brands.

I'm strongly considering trading in my 12th gen 3.5L FX4 appearance package for a 2015/2016 F150 2.7L
I kinda just like the newer body style that much with the Raptor style grille, and lifted I think it's pretty damn good looking with Stage3 headlights.

Right now I only got 53K on mine as it's a spare vehicle for us, and frankly the 3.73 gears I don't need, and 3.5L I don't need.
I got 2 hot rods to play with so really I'm just thinking I want the 2.7L unless it's a bad choice.....

I'm just not aware of the Pro's and Con's to stay away from yet......obviously the pano roof, is one I never knew.
I think I'm goin to start a thread inquiring on what to look for and what to stay away from.

Yes, its is crazy but it seems to work. Trust me when I say a little goes a long way. 1 ounce will last a while. I like to think of it like insurance..... I don't like paying that every month for potentially nothing, but I do it anyway!

I bought mine on Amazon. There are different sizes available, but I got the 1 ounce bottle. I store it in the glovebox so I could apply it whenever, wherever.

I think so . I bought Wurth Rubber Care spray, which is German, and also specially formulated for rubber, with NO silicone, and much cheaper. Also great for door seals, and such. Bought it from Amazon. Hope this helps.
