It seems to me the extreme rack to the stance is for gas milage as is the power air dam down in front. I feel like I'm driving down hill. That power air dam is going to be a liability come winter and snow. I'm thinking about removing it before the snow gets here. I'm already having issues with it. The power air dam comes down at 40mph to divert air. The rubber edge of the stationary air dam on my truck got caught behind the powered one and got hung up when the powered one came back into position. Ford is not sure what they can do.
Originally the distance from the ground to the top of the front arch was 37" and the rear arch 41". It looked a little weird so I had a 2.5" level installed in front. Now I'm at 39" in front and 40.5" in back. I think stock is ridiculously high with these 17" tires but will be nice for the snow.
I get 22mpg driving 70mph but when I step uo to over 80mph it drops fast. Don't worry about me in SD the speed on the interstate is 80mph.
I'm disappointed with the backup camera and sensors. I'm within 5' of my garage door before I get an alarm sound and thats not very far. My wife's bronco sport and my son's older Jeep Cherokee are much more sensitive.
I put tint on my side windows that match my back window so its 1 step too dark. Its great when the sun is out be there are times I think I should have stayed above the legal limit.
I believe the cab on this truck has a rake to it that I see when I look at the windshield
. Steeper window than my 2012 F150.. A little harder to see out of.
The rake in the truck's stance is becaue the bed, which is designed to carry things, is empty so the springs back there aren't compressed. The backup sensors start warning at 6' to match the red/yellow/green warning bars on the camera.
Truck looks better leveled. Yes, a slight rake helps when towing or hauling but nobody needs 3 inches of rake....my truck loaded completely up with people and gear hooked up to a 25ft 8k camper barely squatted 2 inches, a little less and i was either at or over my payload....trucks should come with an 1.5 inch of rake max, a lot of thses guys dont even need that, they just get groceries on the way back from getting their social security check.
