In this thread we ponder why a new F150 has warped rotors
Ok, not new new. 2015 5.0 4wd, owned by a salesman, driven like a Cadillac. Never towed, off-road limited to one trip to the beach. Daily driven in Houston, with 17k miles.
Rotors, all four of them, warped so bad they had multiple MMs taken off by Ford service. To their credit, they instantly knew what the problem was before I finished describing it, and warrantied it instantly.
I've never had a vehicle go through rotors this quick. Not my Tundra, not my 4Runner, not even the 2013 Taurus company car I had that I drove like a rented mule for 50k. At first I thought, isolated incident, right? Well, the service manager said it is typical with F150s. I also can Google it, and ! many people have the same issue.
What's the deal? Warped rotors wells before 20k is not typical of any truck or car I've ever daily driven. Has Ford used ****ty rotors? Bad OEM pads? Because this thing is getting traded in if I am bound to a lifetime of turned rotors every 15-20k.

I have no idea what the original cause was. Possibly the original owner rode the brake pedal and overheated them.
Many people are getting 50,000 plus miles before rake issues on 150's.
As for a lifetime of turned rotors - not necessary. The original rotors having been turned once - not likely they will be turned again as that will most likely take them to below minimum specification.
If the brake pedal pulsation returns, do a little research and then purchase a quality set of aftermarket rotors and pads.

I have a tough time believing that all four were warped. Unless it was just a bad batch.

Had to be a fluke. Maybe the salesman. Was driving like an old man in a Caddy. Unneeded foot on the brake downhill heating the rotors way up. Then hits a puddle and warps them right out.
16k miles on my F150 and zero brake issues.

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say there's probably a serious problem with these trucks in general. And I would have your SA/SM check the master cylinder or at least see if the brakes are sticking at all.
I recently had an issue with my less than week old 16 XLT FX4, where the brakes were dragging badly and the truck would stop on its own.

The SA at first said it was just the calipers and they were going to replace them and machine the rotors, which I was not ok with. Long story short, they replaced the calipers and the brakes were still sticking. Once they opened the hyd lines on the master cylinder the brakes became free and the issue was resolved after replacing the booster/master cylinder.
Sounds to me as though these might have been doing the same thing and he either didn't realize it or it wasn't as bad as mine and they were simply rubbing and heating up.
I also had the popping sound some folks have reported hearing under the brake pedal, which is gone now.

Haven't heard much about warped rotors. If it was that big an issue I'm sure there would be more news on this.
The last set of brakes on my 05 lasted 135,000 km's! That's the longest I've ever had brakes last and hopefully this new truck is the same.

Had my fronts replaced at 11K. No towing but I sit in heavy stop and go traffic everyday. Both rotors were warped. Decided to replace with a better brand. Since then I have put another 16K miles and haven't had an issue.
