Default Thinking of adding 12v socket here - thoughts?

I’m thinking of adding a 12v socket to the bed in the plug that sits where the OEM bed lights would be if I had them. What do you think?

If I’m not mistaken the super duty’s come with a 12v outlet in the bed. Go for it. Seems like it’d be useful

A few folks on here have already done something like this. Here are few links to some I found off of a really fast search. Maybe it will save you a bit of time installing it.

I'm going to look at a couple of options and see if I can find something that I can fit into the oval plastic plug in the corner. Ideally I'd like to just cut a circle in that oval plastic piece. I thought about just plugging an adapter into the 7-way trailer harness, but my understanding is that the truck won't provide power if it doesn't see a trailer, and I also would like it to be powered whether the truck is on or not.

I don't believe they do. Only a 5th wheel in bed option. HC3Z-15A416-A
