When I got my truck in April, 2017 Platinum once I set my phone up the first time everything worked. Everything still worked each time I got back in the truck even if it sat for a couple weeks.

As of 3 weeks ago the text notification quit working. Check iPhone settings and they are all still the same, and set the same as for my Harley and my Stingray, and I still get text notification every time on them.

So, I check my Trucks system. When I went to phone on the truck system, then text it says not enable. So I click retry on the truck touch screen and it works fine, until I shut the truck off. When I come back and start truck, I have to go to phone and then message, and then hit retry again. Then it works.

Why did this change? How can I make it work seamlessly like it did when I got the truck? This is a real pain

 

Maybe obvious, did you try to un-pair and re-pair the phone to the truck? Also, did you recently update ios on your phone?

Did you also update your F150 operating system?

My sync 3 disconnected my phone 2-3 times last month, I don't know why. Perhaps that's was the cause. Didn't disconnect it since.

 

interesting. About 2 or 3 months ago, the text notification quit working in my truck as well. Base Sync system (4" non-touch)

I can still call and talk through the speakers, but when I get a text, there's no sound and no read-out on the screen.

EDIT: I have an Android V6.0

 

Weird....mine started doing this too over the last few weeks. I will say that without changing anything, I did get a text notification pop up a couple days ago. I will continue to monitor.

 

Same here, except that I do get the text notification about 1 out of every 5 texts I receive while in the truck.

 

+1 I'm having issues too. It's adding to the reasons I'm considering switching from Apple to Android.

Brother in Law seems to have no trouble at all w/ Android (and this feature)

 

I've been having this issue as well.
If I go to Phone --> Text Messages, it says it isn't connected (or can't receive texts, I don't remember the message). I press retry and it connects and works. Until I restart my truck.
I haven't tried re-pairing.

 

I have tried re-pairing with "some" success. I haven't received any messages in my truck since this weekend to see if issue is resolved. Will f/u here.

 

Do you have your phones plugged into Apple CarPlay. That is the only way iPhones will read your texts. Apple doesn’t support the text messaging over Bluetooth only androids.
