Default technology package on lariat?

The online configurator at ford doesn't let you select the technology package for Lariat - only KR and Platinum. But this order guide lists it as an option for Lariat - http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...50-Pricing.pdf

which is correct?

also, what other options only come with KR or Platinum?
-power running boards
-wood trim interior
-leather seats (vs leather 'trimmed' seats)
-??

I wish certain options weren't mandatory or only locked in certain trim levels. For example, I'd prefer a fully optioned Platinum, but prefer the KR seats, the Lariat's non-power running boards, and 2.7EB only available in Lariat and below

and whats up with some colors being unavailable in certain trim levels? seems silly

tech package requires 502A which requires the 3.5EB.
AFAIK Tech package and 2.7EB are mutually exclusive on the lariat which is why my little price spreadsheet looks like this (X-Plan pricing, of course).

Why the 3.5EB requirement? Because no idea.
edit: technically the 502A is available on the V8, too. So just "more than the 2.7EB."

I really wish it was like the old days (yes, I'm really old) when you ordered a vehicle, you could then just build on any option a-la-cart, no matter how funky the finished vehicle might have appeared to others.
I think it's all tied into Ford's bottom line.

I'd love a decked out lariat w/ HD payload in a crew 5.5' bed... actually, I'd even consider one w/ the 6.5' bed but still not sure they'll offer any packages other than the base... why? you got me... Just like the above limitation.

Yeah, it's the bottom line driving the current scenario, but on the other hand Ford didn't offer 18,000+ combinations of F-150 back in the ol' days either.
