Here's a little teaser of the switchbacks in use at night
And here's some pictures from dinner time when the sun was starting to go down. They're pretty dim during the day, similar to the stock led boards, only slightly brighter. You would still want to use the headlights as dtrl's.

Those are the 2016 F150 Special Edition headlights. Just buy a factory one for the other side when they are released in the next month or so.
Btw, that's not a part #. It's an engineering number.

Well i got around to installing my switchbacks today. I was really looking forward to blacking out the chrome, but ultimately in the end I was defeated by these suckers. The shrouds around the LED headlights are very hard to remove and I didn't want to break anything, I could have taped over the lenses, but I would have risked overspray ending up getting on the lenses. Also the chrome around the led pipe is all one piece. The clear pieces are not removable and they would need to be taped as well. Again risking over spray getting on the clear lens. I wasn't willing to risk it. I can do a write up on baking the headlights and getting them apart as well as installing diode dynamics switchback boards.
Here's a picture of the back side of the chrome shroud.

Zoom in on all the black painted heads and you can see tape marks where they've been painted. Checkout the black heads on the stage 3 page and you can see masking tape wavy looking lines masking off the clear c clamp lens.
See the attached pic for what I'm talking about with the paint / tape lines.

That was between the light kit I ordered off of Retro fit source. Combined with the installation. The local guy is an authorized dealer/installer for them.
So for the kit it was about $450. https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...3-kit-d2s.html This is the kit, I upgraded the bulbs and did switchback so it ended up being more than the $315 shown as a base price. Then another $4-5 for the installation. It took him about 8 hours because there was a lot of cutting and trimming to get everything to fit and look right. So total it was a little over $900.
Defiant Custom Rides in Raleigh NC was the installer. A couple finished pics below, first shows with switchback being used as blinker light along with the regular signals. Might have them fully painted, possibly go quad.

Man those look good......why can't Ford just offer them that way in the first place.
