Default Tailgate Step

I've noticed on several occasions that my tailgate step is slightly open and find myself having to push down on it to lock it in place. Anyone experience this also?

nope. it does need a good slam to close it properly though. maybe it doesnt lock when you slide it in?

Dub, I've given it a good shot and then pulled up to make sure it's locked in.
Still I've come back after driving to find on at least 3 occasions, that's it's unlocked.

That's the exact reason why I didn't order it. They were always flimsy and even on the Ford videos it was already broken before the truck was being sold

Are you driving with the tailgate open? How can it open with it closed?

I always drive with it closed. I just noticed that it looked like it was unlocked and it was. I pushed it back down and heard it lock again. Really bizarre.

Happened again yesterday. My only guess is if I hit a couple of good bumps in the road it is forcing the tailgate step to unlock cause I can see it raised slightly from my rear view mirror. I go back to lift it and it lifts without pressing the button. I lift it slightly and drop it to make sure it locks. This is a real PITA!
