I had my tailgate stolen off my last truck, and it was locked at the time. My can't believe they offer a trim with no lock what so ever.

Wow, maybe I'm misreading these posts (or I also have a reading problem), but sure seems like a DB response to someone who was trying to help you out.

I'm no help in adding a lock to the tailgate. Not sure that's going to be an easy one but you can add this to keep it from being stolen (tailgate).

I did see that as well but I keep stuff in the bed as well so short of cutting through the tonneau cover. I wanted something a little more secure. Thanks for the input

Telling someone to hit the lock button or give it to someone else clearly didn't read and isn't answering my question. There was no relevance in his statement. Moving on though

Give the guy a break,, he was giving you the standard answer for Lariat + owners that don't know about the FOB unlocking the tailgate if you are close to it.. The same answer I would of given you if I hadn't asked you first what trim level you had.. After finding out that you had a XL I didn't respond as I have no answer for you and was in shock that the XL didn't come with a lock...

What's interesting is he has listed on his info that his truck has a pop and lock,, so he has what you are asking about,, but not on your year of truck..

That's not the standard answer. Yours was.. what trim level? It's an xl..they don't come with them? No sir. It was pointless to respond when clearly he didn't have a clue. There are a lot of people offering up pointless opinions. Just looking to see if anyone has done it to a 2015 +. If they haven't, then no response required... moving on

Yeah me either. I noticed after I bought it and read through the book and sure enough... no lock. I too can't believe they wouldn't put at least a key lock... oh well. Hopefully someone else has done this but if not I'll be the guinea pig and give a shot
