sync3 APIM module failure or something else?
Same issue I had last year. APIM was to blame. Had to push dealer to replace because they couldn't get the truck to throw a code showing faulty APIM. But nonetheless they eventually gave in and replaced it. No problems since
I just took my 2018 to the dealer due to the reboots, frozen button, no phone sync ect. They called and said they need to replace the APIM.... BUT they are on backorder!
I guess I should be happy they are going to do the APIM after the first visit and not make do the flash route ect....
Nov 24, 2018 - Still waiting for my replacement APIM unit to arrive at dealer. My head units reboots 2-3x a day and iPhone still wont sync up.

I guess I should be happy they are going to do the APIM after the first visit and not make do the flash route ect....

Call Ford Corporate and make a complaint. Familiarize yourself with your state's lemon law rules. In many places, it's something like 3 attempts or 30 days out of service. I'd tell Ford you want an APIM or a buyback...
I am waiting on a new APIM for my truck, when I first took it in. They could not find a problem, funny that happen when I pick up the truck that day. The unit just locked up, snap. Needless to say, the "sync guy" was a little red in the face. I guess what pissed me off is that I included examples of the problem, like I would just make up BS like that.
Cara would this still be in effect if I am owner number two? It only has 90 k on it but ford has said it sounds like my problem is the apim but then they quoted me a price. No mention of warranty. Thanks!
