Hey Guys,

I have searched on this forum as well as some of the other Ford Forums but cannot find this topic.

Lately, when I press the Voice Button on my steering wheel, it engages Siri (using iPhone 4s) thru the sound system and not the "Please say a command" Sync that we should hear at this point, to access phone, navigation, climate, etc...

I shut off Siri on my phone and then the Voice button on the steering wheel does not work at all.

I called Sync customer service through Ford and they instructed me to do a "Master Reset" which I did. The Master Reset did not fix the problem.

I was in the dealer today to address the loose leather issue and mentioned it to them and they said the service department will have to look into it as well when its back in for the seats.

Any advice or anyone else run across this? At one point the voice commands for Sync worked perfectly fine...

 

First suggestion - make sure you hold the Hang Up button on the wheel to totally get out of Sync.

If that doesn't work, reboot your iPhone and see if the problem still exists.

If that doesn't work, delete and re-pair the phone in Sync.

How long are your pressing the voice button for and is this a new vehicle or had it for a while?

 

This!! If you hold the voice button down 3-4 seconds then SIRI comes on. If you just hit voice button and let go then you get the chime and sync's voice comes on like it always did.

 

I've tried both..its brand new 2 weeks old 2015

 

PM me the VIN...it may have been produced with a bad sync version. There is a "recall" coming out on it.

Hmm thats close mine is KC 2 days after the recall, built 9/28 at KC. Thanks!

 

Is that the build or release date. If you PM your VIN I can check for sure if it's under the recall.
