Default Sync nav update

Can I download the file to put on an SD card to get the a11 maps anywhere? Or do I have to drop the $50 to buy an SD card? If someone has the a11 card would they be willing to download the files off it and send them to me?

It's a little more complicated than just downloading files. eBay has cards for less than $30

Is that for an a11 map? Must not ship to Canada I can't find it. Can't find any a11 for less than 60. I see there's an a12 now too. Those are over 100$ yikes. I'll just stick with my phone

There is a “key” file tied to the SD card serial number that authorizes the map. It’s not as easy as copy/pasting the map files to a new SD card.

$100 over 12 months is a little over $8/month for updated maps. If you think of it that way, it’s not that much. There’s probably a few things you spend $8/month on and don’t bat an eye.

I received a post card/mailer promoting the nav update, is it really worth the $$. I remember seeing some posts where the nav updates seem to "mess" things up to some extent, and no all that interested in messing things up????

Worth is subjective, nobody can answer that but you.

I have not heard of a Nav update messing up anything. 99% of the issues reported on this forum with Nav updates are from people who don’t read the instructions.

I know when my free updates end after I think first 5 years, I wouldn't spend a nickle. Who cares if you get updates for new neighborhood roads in bfe. I have Navigation, ordered and paid extra for it, and find it not to my liking, and anytime I go into map mode, Google maps from my iPhone is the only way.

I use the navigation daily, even have to use my phone sometimes when the old card it too outdated. I buy the new one every third year or so to help spread the cost out. I use my phone too much for other stuff while driving to rely on it as the navigation as well. I just ordered the A12 card as my update from the A9.
