My neighbor wants the same truck as me. A 2016 or newer XLT crew with the Sync 3 (large screen that has Android Auto, Carplay, etc). Is my truck just rare to have this for an XLT because I'm not seeing any. All of the XLTs have the smaller standard display.

 

any 302a truck should have it. Mine does.

Yep my '17 XL does too...the STX packages also "can" come with the SYNC 3 display I guess as an option? Mine also came with the rear view/backup camera.

 

My XLT has Sync 3, backup camera, remote start and 110-volt outlet on the window sticker as standalone options. Makes me wonder why whoever bought the truck originally didn't just get the 302A, unless they really didn't want the sliding rear window, I don't know.

 

Sync 3 isn't rare on '16's, but make sure it has the Navigation mod if he's wanting that. I ran into a bunch, including mine, that have the 302A package, Sync3 with no Navigation. Don't assume it has it.

 

My 2015 XLT has the larger Sync screen with navigation as well. It's Sync 2 though, but same size. I assume since you're talking about larger and smaller screens that you're just talking about screen sizes. Tried Sync 3 once, the interface looks different, and a little faster, but same deal: It plays music, shows my backup camera and navigates me, that's all I need lol
