Default SYNC 3 Question

I replaced the failed APIM on my truck 3 1/2 yrs ago. Got the new module off Ebay and it was an upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4. It functions fine but after updating the SYNC in my Mustang, I'm looking to do this one also. The ford.com site still shows the "born with" version number and its appropriate update. I did a chat with a Ford rep on the website and they only quoted the 3.0 update info shown on the screen. I explained my system was an upgrade to 3.4 and I didn't want to go back to 3.0. I also don't want to install or attempt to install a version that won't work. What should I do?

Check out CyanLabs. Free updates and it works well. Easy process.

I also second CyanLabs dot com. Many on this forum speak favorably of them.

Funny that I see this thread. I just did my truck not even 30 minutes ago. Definitely go to Cyanlabs and use Syn3 Updater. You'll need at a minimum a 16gb thumb drive if you want all the NAV updates, Voice, etc...

CyanLabs for sure. Funny, a few years ago, one would get slammed in this forum for suggesting CyanLabs method verses searching and installing all the files by yourself.

Yes, the Russian sites with the updated files started to suck. So Cyan it is, which I believe is still Russian.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Using the Russian site, downloading each file and building your own install was tedious.

Cyanlabs is UK based. They have a history page that you can read.

I didn't actually know that until today. There is so much information on their website, with As-built databases, etc. that I use their site often as a resource. It wasn't until today that I actually read some of their history.

BTW, I have updated my SYNC many times using the Cyanlabs updater and have never had an issue, and I have donated as well. I have 3.4 with updated hub (the second from last update) and NA 2 23 maps on my 2016.
