Sync 3 - No Apps Found Android
Then there is processing power and an OS to run the programs. My phone has a boatload more processing power than Sync, and a much better OS. As apps get more complicated and processing intensive, I get a new phone to keep up. Upgrading to a newer Sync system is a hell of a lot more difficult than buying a new phone, and at some point the next Sync won't be compatible with the vehicle you own.
Not a problem when you trade up your ride as often as most of us trade up our phones, but that's not the majority of us, and there are many comments on the forum of going 200k-300k miles before swapping out to a newer F150.
My last vehicle got me to 245k over a 13 year period. Unless I win the lottery, I'll take my 150 to 300k.
Doing that would entirely defeat the intended purpose of letting you use apps you already have on your devices without having to install them in Sync. Ease of use is something we have been screaming for since the inception of Sync.

Obviously, this is my 1st gi with Sync. My wife has the Touch system (I think that is what it is called) in her 2015 Titanium Escape. Sadly, it has no navigation, nor is it upgradable, or so we are told...
I hope to keep this truck a long time. I already enjoy it SOOOO much more than my '12 XLT F250.
My 2018 is still running Version 2.3, & running Nav maps vers NA 1 15
I have enabled the auto updates on my truck, & have checked that it is connected to my WiFi in the house while parked outside, but doesn't seem like it has completed an update since it left the factory.
I installed the updates onto a USB drive, and plugged it into truck, it shows a message "Lexar Detected", but nothing about it starting download.

I'm sure the Escape forums have the same mods going on that the 150, Fusion, Taurus, Focus, etc forums have been doing.
Hot damn! Thanks! I know what I'll be reading today!
You forgot to mention it was a $1,500 hardware upgrade and not a freeware software upgrade.
