Sync 3 - Issues

I too have had the climate control screen pop up a couple random times on my 2016 Screw Sport, I played with it once and the controls worked too! I also thought I seen a glimpse of a Nav screen last week but it disappeared too quickly, it's like the goodies trapped inside want to get out!

Patience its coming
My dealer aknowledged that not all apps work at this time, but that in June the next version will be released. It will have even more. Lets just hope it works better than the first. I have the same issues as you do.

Sync 3 continued
I know this thread is somewhat old but it popped up in my google search for sync issue.
I purchased a 2016 last month, 1700 miles to date. Sync Navigation has been messed up since day one. Many addresses as much as a mile off their destination. My own home is on a different street all together (WTF)
Ford did an update where as many as 45 items were updated.
Nothing Fixed including:
Several other issues such as icons don't match what the book shows.
Screen blacked out twice now.
Galaxy phones have several issues that will not work properly.
Often truck warns "No Key Detected" even while driving down the highway. I'm waiting for the steering wheel to lock up on me next time this happens.
Although not Sync but electronic related... Door Locks went crazy up and down every time the car wash hit the driver door.
There is more but why go on here...
I talked with Ford Sync experts at Ford who know these issue are there. They even have an updated maps that is correct but will not release it to the public...WHY??? Version 15 was on the tech computer and had the correct addresses, but we are not allowed to have it...
Ford Service has tried for 5 weeks now to get answers....But Nothing
In 92 I bought a new F-150 and the 4wd went bad. The service manager even drove the truck with me and said it was "Junk"
Ford never could find the issue, they finally gave up.
I owned several Rams since, never another Ford... Until now, as I thought, they have to have it right by now...
Man was I wrong... They take your $50k for a product that does not work, can't fix it and don't know what to fix.

Some 2016 F150 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) may experience a condition in which the climate control features are displayed on the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) randomly and usually after starting the vehicle. The climate control features will remain displayed until the customer navigates away from the screen. Some of the climate control functions maybe functional while this screen is displayed. The vehicle is not equipped with this feature and this is not a normal characteristic of an EMTC system. Engineering is aware of this concern and is investigating. Until a new service procedure is available do not attempt any repairs or replace parts for this condition.

Maybe it's time Congress and the DOT pass a law that says these car companies must stop selling vehicle models when they know the problem exists and do not have a fix. Many of these issues are deceptive marketing when you think you are getting all these fancy items and none of them work.
That would get them off their butts and find these fixes a whole lot faster

Wow... just got a 2017 and coming from MFT sync 3 is pretty crappy... apps load randomly, if I am playing music from my phone and disconnect it to get out of the truck most of the times when returning it will not recognize the phone on usb so music wont continue playing.
the system freezes 50% of the time when starting the truck...
FORD WTF you got a lot of problems from MFT and cant still get it right with sync 3?
at the moment the system is garbage and happens to look like garbage as well...

SYNC 3 issues
Yall figure this out yet!?
I have a 2016 F-150 XLT and the whole SYNC 3 system crapped out after owning the truck for a year and a half. I get the frozen screen, blue screen, black screen, no gps signal screen, and nothing works. Can’t even turn the radio on and off. Back up camera will sometimes turn on while I am driving down the highway!
Automax Dealership in Killeen says SYNC 3 is not covered under any warranty and I read all the manuals and found this to be sadly true.
Paid the dealer $150 to do an update (even though the system is supposed to automatically do this with wifi) and the system got even worse.
Now I am being told a SYNC3 module may have to be replaced and will cost over $700 but they can only have my truck looked at on Thursday mornings when the contracted SYNC3 “radio guy” drives in from Dallas.
I wish I hadn’t even bought this truck with the fancy computer but it was a good deal and dealerships rarely carry vehicles without dash computers like this. I can live without GPS but the radio issue sucks big time. Cannot even get the radio to stay on a station, let alone turn it on and off sometimes.
Anyways, if yall find anything out, or find spare parts online, please share.
