Angry Sync 3 - Issues

I purchased on Monday 2016 XLT Sport with 302a package. Sync 3 apps has been a nightmare to get working. I have all the settings correct based off Ford.com help, I've opened up the apps on my phone but they take forever to show up within the apps or not at all. Today it took 10 min for the apps to load: Accuweather, Spotify, iHeart Auto, no color icons just placeholders.

Go into Accuweather, seems to function as expected, go back to app menu to find iHeart Auto is now gone.

Ok well I'll Try to update apps. Tried this yesterday with my iPhone 6 connected USB full LTe strength, 40 min no update (instructions say less than a minute). This morning I connect to my home wifi after iHeart Auto went missing and try to update the apps, 5 min later still nothing. I give up and start to drive to work without iHeart. Stuck in traffic I unplug my phone to read an email, plug it back in, all apps are now missing. 15 min later I pull into work, still no apps.

Leave work, plug phone in to usb, no apps. 60 min drive home, check again, still no Apps.

I can't update and I can't get apps to work, so far I'm not impressed. The best thing that sync 3 has going for it right now is ability to use Siri.

Does anyone have any ideas or been experiencing the same inconsistencies?

Maybe it needs a reset? Unhook the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps.

Experiencing the exact behavior as you. Apps come and go randomly, and the Ford Owner app doesn't even work (there's another thread regarding that issue).

Tried to update all apps on sync 20 times and it fails every time.

I'll try a master rest first, and then give the battery a go but would be pretty surprised if that fixes it, nonetheless appreciate the suggestion

Do you have your trucks connecting to WiFi for updates? Early on in the release, frequent updates are likely.

Pulling the plug is the first thing I do when my phone, DVR, computer....etc start acting up. It works on those things most of the time.

I was connected via home wifi this AM and selected update all apps, after 5 min it was still going... So I stopped it because I needed to get going. (I know I may have screwed it up more by doing that but these things should be programmed for error handling) I'm going to try it again right now.

Phone connected to USB, Sync connected to wifi. After 3 min I get the message captured in the attached screen shot. I selected close and returned back to the App download screen changes where the status changes from Updates Needed to Updating... and appears to keep cycling through the two statuses after a couple min. In each status only to finally end with Unable to update...

Sync 3 has a built in WiFi radio. Unplug your phone from the truck, go into the WiFi section of the settings control panel in Sync 3 and connect the truck to your Wifi network directly. Your phone should have nothing to do with updating Sync3. If all else fails, I think Ford has a dedicated support number for Sync 3.

Yes I was connected wifi to my home network, if you are suggesting not having the phone plugged in to the usb how would sync know what apps need to be updated as I thought your phone had to be plugged in in order to use apps? (I believe this is an iPhone only requirement in that android doesn't need to be plugged into use for app link)

Regardless I'll try again tomorrow. If it still fails I will be looking for a sync support number.
