Default Sync 3 App Issue

Hey all, I am well versed in auto and tech worlds but cannot figure why my audio apps and other supposedly compatible apps will not show up in the app menu. I hit apps and the ford app shows, the pandora pops up for a second then disappears and my spotify and other compatible apps do not show at all. I hit the search and it says no compatible apps found. Thoughts or resolutions to this?

My Sync3 can't find any apps in my Samsung S7 either... I gave up on that one.

Same. I quit fighting it and use Carplay and Android Auto.
I'd love to have the option though!

Ya, I use AA but I really like the home screen benefit of the map, audio, etc on the Sync.

Make sure you don't have a setting on the phone that kills unused apps to save battery. The app has to stay running in the background.

I have a case that has been escalated through Ford. I'll let you know what they say/recommend for the fix. IMO, if you pay for a feature you should get a feature. It's one reason I walked on out on Ram. I purchased a truck with the Pandora link. They did a software update and it took that away. You had to use your phone to open up Pandora and select songs etc. That was a bid deal since I hate people on their phones while driving and I drive about 2 hours per day so the convenience is a huge perk for me.

Look for them under Audio sources. I had that too. I found looking in the audio sources seems more stable.

Good Luck,

Apps won’t work with CarPlay enabled in sync3. If You turn off CarPlay in the sync3 menu then You should be able to access compatible apps. Don’t know if it’s the same for android auto as well.

It's the same for AA. I'm referring to not using AA and the apps still do not appear. I will double check to make sure AA is disabled but that was one thing I tried during the troubleshooting.

Good Luck,
Only thing listed in Audio Source menu are the standard AM, FM, XM, Bluethooth, etc. No apps appear there. Very weird yours would show any apps in that menu. Do you have a picture of this???
