So what was the change to the MFT in mid march for?

Rebecca, it is very much appreciated, but more info would be useful as well. I think a lot of folks on here are curious about whether the hardware can be swapped out to the Sync 3 system. Is it as simple as swapping out a new head unit?

 

I think it will be possible to upgrade to Sync 3. You would have to buy a new APIM. It's probably an expensive upgrade though.

 

Unfortunately that's all the information I can provide at this time, and I'm unable answer DIY-type questions. I can tell you that dealers will not be permitted to swap systems.

I could be wrong but I believe it'll swap out .. They'd be a lot of extra cost in retooling so I'd say they'll keep it the same .. I'll be honest, I'm pretty satisfied with mft, I've dealt with the intellilink in gm's and I felt mft was just as good if not better in ways

 

Any idea when the 2016 updates will be available? (June, July?) If sync 3 will be available in the 2016 f150 I will wait a couple months to order if it will not be to 2017 I will order a 2015 instead.

Now I'm worried as Hell that any time I upgrade my MFT, I'll lose functionality. I actually *LIKE* having the redundant buttons on-screen. Who's the a-hole customer who complained, and ruined it for everyone?
