Sync 2 to Sync 3

Hi,

Is it possible to replace the Sync 2 with the new Sync 3 ? Hardware or software ?

I asked my local dealership this same thing and was told it requires a whole new head unit and will be about $2,000.

It has been done by a few on here.. Search for posts about traded in 2015 for a 2016.

But not the answer most of us are willing to do.

Actually that one sold...it will be residing in a 15 Mustang. I have another one though and a non-nav.
