someone on here posted a how-to swap the grilles on these trucks.

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/remov...s-pics-303597/

It's definitely do-able but way more complicated than i felt like dealing with so I'm trying to return my grille.

my dodge was 5 or 6 botls, took 10 minutes. this is all kinds of crap if you have to undo, from the wheel well, the headlights, etc. PITA

I actually really like this idea and might have to steal it from you. I hate the Lariat grille and most aftermarket ones won't support the 360 camera. Perhaps swapping it out for a black platinum grille with a camera is the way to go.

It doesn't look like they have the 2015's yet, but this link might give you some idea of what is involved with a 2014 at least.

Also, I entirely forgot about the 2015 SEMA trucks that have painted (maybe wrapped?) platinum grilles:

Now that blue one looks good! Like you I can not understand why Ford uses such an ugly grill on the Lariat Sport - and the only way to get flame blue on the Lariat is with the Sport pack

Sales: How to sell more units?
Marketing: Make an OK grill, put it on the lower priced model. Then, we make them upgrade for a better looking grill that makes the whole truck look better!!
Sales & Marketing(in unison): GENIUS!

Step 1: Sand the grille with 800 grit sand paper.

Step 2: Clean with prep solvent.

Step 3: Spray with adhesion promoter.

Step 4: Prime and paint.

Removing the grille really isn't a big deal, neither is pulling the headlights on these trucks. Definitely more work than the Ram, but not outrageously so.

i should have specified. i had a gen 3 ram. it was super easy because it was attached to the hood.

I had a 14, 2 push pins to rotate the plastic flap cover out of the way, 4 bolts, and you'd pull it straight out of the truck to the front.

This truck is definitely more involved, but once you do it a few times and learn how everything goes together it's not a big deal.
