Default removing grill (pics pics pics)

Ok guys this is how I went about it , I will correct my self as i go saving you time if you are interested in taking of your grill to swap/paint and I'm sure can be used to help remove headlights ( next project retrofit!)

You will not only remove the first side pin , but all three connecting the insulation wrap to the bumper , there are 4 10mm bolts you will remove across the top

Here was my first mistake .. you can wait to remove the push pins, till you remove the whole assembly of what seems like blinds to shield the intercooler/radiator.

After using a 7mm socket to take off fender headlight filler bolts your can snap it out.. exposing the side 8mm bolts that will remove the assembly , don't forget to disconnect wiring before pulling it out

Now that the assembly is off it should by easy to remove push pins and the four 10mm bolts that help place grill on the blind assembly

Place new grill back on to assembly with push pins and four gold 10mm bolts

Place assembly back and reverse steps hope this helps you all out !

Where were you last weekend?? Excellent write up and pics. Same thing I found out through trial and error last Sunday. Looks like you swapped an XLT grille for a Lariat Sport grille. Did the emblems mount in different ways? I didn't have the 3 10mm nuts on the emblem on my Lariat Sport grille. Your truck looks great.

Didn't get emblem off. Did black plastidip with glossifer on the grille. Disappointed with the results. Gonna regroup and have it painted to match when I have a few days to be without the truck.

I didn't make any messes. It actually looks pretty nice. The glossifier just wasn't glossy enough, so it wasn't the look I was looking for. I'd post a pic but it would just look like a stock grille, just a bit darker.
