I'm new to the forum and I wanted to see if anyone here can point me in the right direction.
I have a Surface Book 2 That I would like to have as my main unit. I like what Doug Benard is doing over at Soundman but I would rather have a Surface than an iPad installed.
Do people here do this type of fabrication that I can hire? I have a 2015 F-150
I am also handy and wouldn't mind help with the project if I can get some tips.
See pic for reference.
Thank you.

This is a bad idea, take a look at the storage and operating temperature limits. Vehicle in parking lot under the bright sun quickly exceeds the rated temperature.
Totally different animals. The iPad Pro is a fanless design (and it still specs a maximum operating temperature of 95F, which I can assure you will be exceeded). A Surface Book generates substantially more heat.. so much that it has a fan (more than one in some versions) on board.
I have a tablet that's running a Core processor and is designed for vehicle operations (Toughbook FZ-G1) - I can assure you, a Surface Book won't hold up in this service.
@tvsjr WTH you talking about? I already stated that I'll be going with the slide option. Anyways, this isn't a forum to spec battle about tablets, but I have a SB 2, not event the new iPad Pro can keep up with it. HA
So regardless of what I do, I'll make sure to post.

Thanks all
Looks like tvsjr was pointing out that your system will likely overheat, especially in hotter summer days. Doesnt (to me at least) sound like tvsjr was bragging about performance of one vs the other. You may want to retract your last comment. People here are trying to help you avoid costly mistakes.

Quite correct. If I was going to brag about high performance computing systems, I certainly wouldn't be bragging about an FZ-G1.
But, obviously Gilbert knows better than anyone. Enjoy your toasted CPU, bro!
