Default Super frustrated

So my wife got me a RC 2" level for Christmas and I dropped my truxk off to a reputable shop today to have it installed for a great price...just got the call that the front spacers/bolts are not working. He claims he tried every which way and even rotated the struts 180 degrees to try and make it fit but to no avail. He said something along the lines of the way the bolt holes were machined is making the struts/spacer hit the frame of the truck when they try to put it back together. Of course it's sunday/new years eve so can't get in touch with rough country. He thinks either it was machined wrong or packaged wrong when ordered. Sucks. Luckily he's doing the right thing and only charging me for an alignment and not the hours of labor of him attempting to install it. ****ty going all day thinking I'd get the call and everything would be fine.

pretty nice of him not to charge you for his time wasted on parts you supplied.

My wife also got me the RC 2" level kit for Christmas. She ordered from Amazon and the part number is 569.

Amazon delivered part 570. Did an exchange online and they delivered the 570 again. She called Amazon and ripped them and they over-nighted the correct 569.

Check your part numbers.

Agreed. It's not his fault the parts you supplied aren't right. If he was supplyin the parts, it would be between him and the manufacturer to settle, but since you supplied the parts, it's not really his issue. Sounds like a decent guy.

I never once said that I was frustrated with the mechanic. Very happy with him and him doing the right thing. Frustrated with rough country and frustrated with the fact that I thought my truxk would be back to me today with the level finished.

just checked...part number on box is 569. Talked to a buddy who seems to think the mechanic just didn't compress the whole spring assembly enough to fit it back into place. But I don't want to argue with the mechanic, who said he's done these before and tried everything and couldn't get it to fit correctly. Not sure what my next move is

o I don't know cause I figured I could bring it to a pretty reputable shop in my area who gave me a decent price to have it installed and aligned, meaning my friend and I didn't have to do it. At this point tho it might be the better option. Just sucks working outside when it's 15 degrees - probably the main reason I was just going to pay to have it installed

Not being charged for his time with parts you supplied that were incorrect? I'd say this mechanic either didn't know what he was doing and did you a huge favor by throwing in the towel, or he is just a flat out nice guy. Either way this situation turned out well in my book.
Happy new year!

Yeah 11 degrees here right now. Looks like it'll wait till spring for me. I could put it on my lift but would have leave door up. It's just fk'n cold this year.
