Can you normally lock out down to 3rd gear while running highway speeds? Like if you're going say 65, will it let you lock out everything above 3rd?

Just to update on my end. Perhaps it is the same issue as VilleFan15 and might be worth checking into. The dealership said that I get intermittent misfires on four out of six plugs. Apparently, this causes a sudden downshift from a higher gear like sixth to second or first gear. Strange part is that I had them changed a few months ago.

It does not seem like a twitchy button or switch for me. I was also able to lock out to 3rd gear at about 60. The truck also ran higher RPMs in manual.

Open to any thoughts.

That's interesting about the plugs throwing a misfire. May have to run the codes on my truck with forscan, to see if anything shows up. So far no more issues on my end though.

I did try as someone else suggested, and just tapping the buttons has no effect. I can half depress them and they don't lock out any gears, so I think I can rule out a faulty, or overly sensitive button.

May have to just keep an eye on it and maybe check for misfires.

It's a recall for the 2013s too. I had a '13 and got the recall letter. Never had it happen in the truck...but I just sold that truck to my brother and he is going to have the recall done at the dealership.

A different dealership said that the PCM was outdated which could have caused the issue so they updated the PCM. It is a new issue so I am not sure that will fix it but I guess it is worth a shot. Interestingly, they did say that it was not a TSB.

Did the update fix your 2014 F-150? Mine is doing it now, but I'm not seeing a recall or TSB for the 2014s, only 2011-2013. Could you send me a link?
