Default Stab Links

Ok, so I have had my 2018 5.0 for about a year now... I changed out the front struts to level 1.5". I had a little clunk before and after in the front end, i noticed it was the stab links so i replaced them - didn't really have to because they were installed loose, with about 1/8" gap, yep my bad. well now i have the same clunk and getting under the truck moving parts around the noise is from the links. do i need to get different links if I level? or did i just get a bad batch? the noise is from the knuckle or joint of the link, didn't know if the level changed the angel and I need a different one or if i just got bad parts. I don't think there is a special way to install, or an orientation. they should just work, right?
Any help would be appreciated

You do not need different links for a 1.5" lift. I went with 1.75", no noise, and the angles are fine.

The stab links are good for the full travel of the suspension, doing a lift or drop within the confines of the oem suspension travel means not having to do anything about the stab links.

OP, double check all bolts' torque. Something might not have been tightened to spec. 2" level puck here no noise from the front end on mine.

No doubt you're pretty low on miles, still wouldn't huryt to check the bushings where the sway bar mounts to the frame. I had a Superdude once, that at less than 10K miles, the bar was shaking because of bad bushings,

If this is the clunk I think it is, it’s prob the stab links.
if you cut the wheel all the way and turn into a parking spot and hear it. Or when you cut the wheel all the way to leave that spot and you hear it, that is the stab links..
It’s like they almost get wound up and loaded under tension when your cutting the wheel, and then they suddenly relax resulting in a sudden pop or clunk.
They are probably quite silent over wise….

I get the same issue randomly.. sometimes it’s gone for weeks, then it happens again.. I checked everything multiple times, nothings loose, not even the stab links..

That would be a possibility if the links were moving when turning the wheel. On the F150, they do not.

The stabilizer link attaches to the lower control arm on the 2018's. The LCA does not spin, it only moves up and down. It cannot bind the link when turning the wheel as the LCA remains motionless, aside from moving very slightly up and down if the surface under the tire is not level.

In vehicles that attach links to a McPherson strut, what you said applies. Also, the 2021 F150 front suspension attaches the link to the knuckle, that would also apply there.
