Not to mention if someone from my work mentioned my wife's name in a passive aggressive, smartass, wanna be threatening way...well, I'm not down with that. Your truck would become secondary on your list of concerns. I'm not a "tough guy" type, but even hinting at messing with my family...no, I wouldn't recommend it.

Reminds me that there was an FJ Cruiser here with a big sticker covering the back window saying "This dealership screwed me etc etc." It was one of the special editions/Trail Teams models so I kinda wanted to corner him and offer to buy it from him because I wish I hadn't sold my 2008 FJ. Haven't seen it lately though, I think he must have moved.

Take it or leave it, as you will. It did work for me. Nothing nutty about it, and if you read the post I was very specific in NOT threatening. Or being anything but polite.

You try to be nice, and you're getting screwed, you can either take it, or change the perception of the game. That's your call to make.

They could CT you for NO reason, period. It doesn't rise to harassment by any stretch of the imagination save perhaps yours, it won't make the legal definition by a long stretch.

Courtesy cost nothing, and I always advocate that IF they are receptive. When you are getting stonewalled it's your call.

These are the same methods used Up to the international level, the incentive may change, and the leverage perhaps, the game and goal doesn't.

Agreed. What I was actually going to say was "bat**** crazy" but I was trying to be diplomatic. It's a veiled threat and when your reason for doing it is "reminding them they're not that insulated" it isn't even a particularly well veiled threat.

Why would he care that you're letting him know that he's not that insulated from his customers? If it isn't a veiled threat, that is? Telling him you know where he lives? Telling him you know who his wife is? Why don't you just casually mention what his daughter was wearing to school that day? It's not a threat, right? Nothing illegal.

Ok, then quit crying about your issue with the truck and how it isn't being resolved.

Again your choice to make.

I suppose I should say THE issue to be properly generic. I guess we will disagree or agree to disagree.

Everyone is ok with their kids holding up,signs outside the dealership ( which is far more bat**** crazy to me) or paying a bum, but not personalizing a conversation with an otherwise insulated party, which will either get it resolved or based on other comments bring a face to face meeting ( which is also ok, harder to dodge issues or questions face to face)

Fine. Not my circus

I read through all the OPs posts for the second time. If I missed something he said then I apologize. It's entirely possible I DID miss something, but under the assumption that I didn't, this is my hot take:

1. It's been ~2 week or more since this damage occurred but he has not taken the truck back to the dealership to show it to them.
2. Not only won't he show it to them, he won't even send them a picture of it due to potential negative impact on a hypothetical future lawsuit.
3. He has taken it to multiple other dealers plus contacted Ford corporate numerous times.
4. He apparently expects someone to fix it but he refuses to show it to the dealership that would be responsible for fixing it. Like I guess he just wants Dealership X to say "Okay, we haven't seen the damage but it must be our fault so have it fixed somewhere else and I guess we'll just pay for it."
5. On top of all that we got supercop telling the OP to threaten the GM and his spouse.

This thread is Bizarro World.
