single "clunk" when starting the engine
I believe it has to do with torque converter lock up...being engaged on start up. The converter is locked and disengages when the engine is started, sending the shock through the drive shaft to the ring and pinion gear. That's why you hear it as the miles start stacking up, gear lash...

I have a 2020 purchased on 8/8/20 did not have any clunking issues till the last couple of months. It has 23.300 miles and 10.000 have been towing an 8,000# trailer. It has MAX Towing and Payload package. Took it in today and they had it most of the day, they tried re-flashing guess it did not work. They are replacing the transmission valve body and will reflash...will see if this works...

Seems to be way better. I think it slightly happened once or twice. But, I always make sure when I park it is always has some sway in the drive line.
But who knows. Maybe when it's cold it doesn't happen much. Now that spring and summer is here and warmer weather we will see.

Mine definitely seems to do it if I put the parking brake on first and then put the truck in park.
