Should I do it?
well, DUH!
, smart move, especially given what they are offering for your Tahoe..
Always remember, the deal actually on the table is the only real true measure of value and what the dealer is prepared to do, not what "experts" on the interwbz tell you it "should" be. At the end of the day only you can decide if it works for you

Well I ended up buying today. Msrp was $57140, including my trade ($2500 for my '05 Ranger) I ended up out the door for $48,000. Not as good of a deal as I had hoped, but I learned it's more difficult to deal on a Lariat than an XLT. If I got screwed, someone please tell me. The truck I am getting is in Memphis, TN so I should pick it up in a few days. I'll add the window sticker tomorrow.
I did. I would have taken one without it, but while we searched for the right combo of other options that I definitely wanted, this just kinda came along with it. For example, I would have rather had the FX4 package instead of a moonroof, but really had no use for either. I'm super happy with it overall tho.
I think you got a good deal. I recently bought an XLT that had an MSRP of $46,780 for $39,500. I really, really wanted a Lariat and I found one with an MSRP of $50,000. I figured for $3000 more, why not. But after trying to make a deal, I found out the same as you that there were less rebates on the Lariats. So a $3000 difference in MSRP ended up being a $7000 difference out the door. BTW, Nice looking truck!
Yeah, I was bummed they didn't have the same kind of deals avail for the lariat as with the xlt. Advertised $14k off Xlt at the same dealer, but couldn't come close to that kind of money off the lariat. They tried to push me to an xlt but I was set on what I wanted. I'm happy as schitte!
