A question.
My 2018 F-150 XLT Supercab has a column shifter. I think many 2018's if not most have the shifter in the console.
Would anyone know if this is an option or because it's an Oklahoma Edition?

only way to get the console shifter in the XLT is the sport package. All other XLTs have the column shifter.
If you're up to the challenge a truck with a column shift can be converted to console w/floor shift. A few other on this forum have gone from floor to column, because certain trim and cab are not available to choose but we wanted bad enough to do the conversion. There are a few threads on the topic.
Main reason I got an XLT without the sports package was the option to seat 6. I think the console is a huge waste of space and definitely prefer the shifter on the column.
Although I have a column shift I do think the console shifter looks good no doubt. With that being said, because of the column shifter the usable console space is great and something that once you have it it would be hard to live without. Our Acura Tl ( which I seldom drive ) has a console shifter and that damn thing is always in my way. I would also think the console shifter would be more difficult to clean around. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, however I despise chrome on trucks, hence why I got my '18 in the Sport trim. My '15 was a two-tone Bluejean/Magnetic with column shift and jump seat, which I liked very much, but...chrome. I don't have the wherewithal to bother with all the conversions. My '15, funny enough, was the first vehicle I ever owned (not drove) that wasn't either a floor shift auto or a standard tranny, which I drove for 20 years prior to getting my first F150. It's a truck - it should have a column shift! Although shifting gears in manual mode is a lot more ergonomic on the floor shifter, not to mention stealthy, especially if you're racing a HEMI that thinks he's faster than an EcoBoost!

This is the exact same for me. My 16 xlt I absolutely loved except for the chrome. I looked high and low for an exact replacement without chrome (same color too was important) when I bought my 18 and the sport package covered it. I have really grown to like the console shifter though, the console is huge and more useful to me as I don't carry passengers often and when I do it is only a couple. I have grown to love the 10 speed as well. The new 5.0 I am on the fence about, the 16 engine never used a drop of oil and my 18 uses a little, but thats a whole 'nother story...
