Question Serious performance mods

Has anyone done anything serious other than intake/exhaust/tuner? I'm just wondering where the limits of the factory bottom end and transmission are? What kind of mods has anybody done? And if you've done anything what kind of numbers did you make? The reason I ask is I traded in a 650hp powerstroke for this truck and I'm missing the power. Thanks in advance.

I hope you bought the 5.0, because the EB doesn't have much modding potential. With the 5.0 you can purchase the super charger kit of your choice and easily get 600HP. If you have deeper pockets, a custom twin turbo set up can easily get you 800HP or more. You won't miss your diesel if you mod the 5.0.....

uhh...what?

The EB doesn't have much modding potential?

I agree that coming from his PSD the 5.0 modded will probably give him what he's looking for, but there's a lot of power to be made with the 3.5 EBs now, between full exhausts and tuning, not to mention what's going to start coming out now that the engine is spreading across multiple platforms.

Starting to come out? The engine was in other platforms before it was in the F150, if anything, the F150 was the spread. If you're talking about the GT and Raptor, different engine (still a 3.5 EB but not the same as you will find in the F150 or any of the cars).

That said, yeah, way cheaper to get a big bump out of the EB than the Coyote but the Coyote should have a higher potential if you're willing to spend...

Therein lies the problem though...performance modification outside of all out big dollar builds is all about bang for the buck.

On a 3.5 EB you can spend $2k between intake/exhaust/tune and gain probably in the neighborhood of 100-120hp and 150lb/ft. Spend the same money on the same mods on a coyote and see what...50hp/tq at best?

If you want to spend 8k getting a supercharger or 10k twin turboing a 5.0, by all means it can be done and it'll make a metric ****-ton of power, but at that point the same investment could be made into the EB and probably still come out with more power.

just because I like fanning the flames...

it costs 45k to get an 830hp/700tq ecoboost
https://www.danzioperformance.com/?page_id=13 (scroll down) - is it potentially cheaper to build your own, maybe but I haven't seen anyone do it.

I know for a fact you can get 800hp out of the 5.0 for less than half that - including forged internals.
