Default Serenity now!

In addition to the vibration problem and the nonfunctional junk Sync 3, now I have a knock in the driver's side head of my 5.0.

I called the dealership service manager, and he said, "we have had a lot more problems with the F-150s that were built in early summer forward. I don't know if it's because of the shortage or what, but we have a lot of both issues you're describing."

So, I wasn't aware of any shortage, but apparently corners were cut to meet demand.

H elaughed and then apologized after I told him about the 4 degree working angle difference in my driveshaft. He did say that there is a timing chain tensioner problem on multiple engines. Lovely.

Unfortunately I cannot take it 1.5 hours back to him and have to begin the endless debacle of trying to fix both problems locally. Interestingly, he said he would love to hear what the dealer here finds so that it might help him with his headaches.

I'm seriously pissed off about this. 2,000 miles on a truck and I have engine and drivetrain vibration problems. Even if I get this fixed, which I very seriously doubt, this pattern of broken Fords and endless repairs that never are even acknowledged are over. I'm fixing it and dumping it with 2,000 miles.

I feel sorry for people who believe it will ever end.

That sucks, but I've had my 2015 since March 2015 and have had zero issues. No need to blow your lid, you got a lemon/one-off. It happens, but that's what warranty is for. If it continues, get it replaced under the lemon law. You have even more pull to make that happen if Ford admits to being aware of the issue.

And you don't have to take it to the dealer you bought it from to get warranty work done. You can bring it to your local dealer.

There is an old adage, "Id rather push a ford than drive a chevy".

My 16 5.0 was made in april, Kansas City. 6500 miles and knock on wood, no issues

Good luck, my truck has been fine, it's now a year old. Back 2004 I had a Silverado that had problem after problem, and like you I dumped it and jumped back into a Ford. Have never looked back.

Build date of 6/4 here and no issues aside from the frozen locks I'm dealing with now.

Sadly, I bought the 5.0 specifically to avoid reliability issues. These days I can't buy a break. I'm honestly not surprised any more. I should have learned my lesson after the '13 and '15 Mustangs and just accepted my losses. I'm a believer in statistics and logic, so I just KNEW it couldn't happen again.

I completely agree with BlackBoost on the lemon. I had a 2011 EB Lariat Screw and from day 1 it was a problem. I kept it only cause it was under warranty, but again I had driveshaft issues, vibrations in 60km/hr and 80 km/hr, downshifting problems, upshifting problems, timing chain, coils and list went on. I didnt know there was a something similar to the lemon law in the US in Canada, so I just kept it. After warranty I did 1 major fix as I thought it should be done, but nope same problem rose a month ago on another road trip 6 months after i got it "completely" fixed. So 1 month ago has more issues and just took it to another dealer down south and traded it in.
I just think with every brand there going to be a lemon and some person is going to be unfortunate and get it. I almost went with Chevy/GM or Toyota, but decided with Ford as got best trade in plus 0% and my new 2016 F150 is amazing. Nothing wrong so far and everything i wanted in my original truck.

I don't believe in lemons. One has to believe in some cosmic alignment of stars that cause all of the suppliers and assembly workers to all screw up on one single vehicle. Too many factors. The only logical answer is shoddy quality control across multiple fronts.

I just got out of Carmax and they'll give me $3K more than I owe, so with 2,018 miles it looks like I'm done for good. The only way this nightmare continues is if the dealer tomorrow just falls over themselves to address the problems. That has never happened at a Ford dealer that I've been to so I'm not hopeful.

Looks like 28 years of driving Fords, including the day I turned 16 and got my Capri 5.0, is going to end. It's depressing, but at some point I have got to accept reality. I've had three brand new, top of the line, Fords since just 2013. All three were endless headaches that had more problems than I could even keep up with. I'd rather have an old Camry that just works at this point. Never imagined myself saying that, but I'm there.

In Canada we have something called CAMVAP who handle consumer protection on your behalf. They do all the legal work and court cases free of charge to get you your repairs or get the dealer to buyback. In Canada though, you can do this up to 5 years/160,000km's(100,000 miles) with a problem vehicle. The only thing they can't do is a full replacement, but a buy-back and then buy again is pretty much the same thing, just one more step.

Sucks to hear but it happens. This is my first Ford and so far no issues. My family is Toyota loyal and I would have bought a Tundra if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted the tech & the EcoBoost MPG. Since the MPG on my 2.7 has been a huge disappointment so far (even driving like an old woman) I still love the tech I have for the price. If you still want a truck you can't go wrong with a Tundra. Plain but they work and they last. I wouldn't look at Chevy Dodge they have more issues than anything else.
