Was going to buy the UPR catch can system for my 2016 EB. Probably not needed but couldn't hurt right? Truck has 16000 miles on it and I love getting into the throttle. Ebay has 15% off today so the catch can, 2 pro series check valves and hi flow pvc replacement would come out to $468. Decided to pull the pvc tube that people show oul puddles in. Mine is almost completely bone dry so I took a Qtip and swabbed the inside of the air intake port. See the results. I don't need one and now don't think I even want one for peace of mind.
A few weeks ago I had a check engine light at 93k on the clock : Crankcase Pressure Sensor.
First thing I thought was "man it might be gummed up". PCV, intakes et al were checked for oily deposits. All clean, nothing gummed up. Sensor was good too, it was an electrical failure. Sensor was replaced and all is good again. Not worried about getting/needing one of those, ever.
Think what you want,but I just pulled the intake off of my 16 5.0 to install a supercharger with less than 17,000 miles on the clock & that rascal was nasty.

I am currently looking into catch cans now & i do not plan I paying anywhere near what you was going too either.

I put the ford performance catch can on my 17 5.0 when it was a week old. I empty it every 3500 miles and get a few tablespoons of oil. Mishimoto makes one but they are almost $300 I think; way too much. I paid $139 shipped.

May I ask where is that hose? Or hoses, since you mention two (or is it 2 PCV valves?). I'd like to know where are they to check my truck after a few thousand miles. I checked my ex-Audi S6 with just a few hundred miles, and there was a puddle of oil on the driver's side turbo piping, since the PCV valve dumps the fumes (and oil) on the driver's side turbo housing only. Good to hear our EBs have 2 hoses into each bank's intake. I was seriously thinking about a catch can on that car, and always needed one on my ex Corvettes (POS), but we shouldn't need one at this day and age. Hope my EB is like yours. Thanks.

this is such a polarizing subject I probably shouldn't have poked the bear. I was genuinely surprised how dry the two pipes were.
