i posted a link to the ram trucks official website showing a $14,800 discount on the redesigned ram.

looks like they lowered the discount this month.

Incorrect. Check Koons web site and you will see discounts ranging from $6-13,000, maybe more on 2019 models.

Wife and I went to the movies this afternoon and drove by the Ram dealer. Told her I wanted to stop to look at them and she dang near had a fit as we have owned mostly Fords since the late 70's. Salesman was there and opened the door so she could look inside and all she said was WOW. She loved the seats, dash, rear storage etc.
They are now on our short list.

The reason I didn't buy a Ram: The brake pedal is about 2 inches too high off the floor.

And I have size 13 feet.

The wife couldn't even touch it with her heel planted on the floor.

I like the Ram interior better, the dial shifter i'm fine with, the hemi sounds AWESOME.

but that brake pedal... deal breaker.

A lot of dealers are advertising all the rebates which is almost impossible to get. I only qualified for $2500 in rebates and a $500 voucher from Sam's club. The dealer I purchased from was also offering their own discount of about $6000. So it is possible to get a really good price on the new Rams, but I would ask the dealer what's the real price you can get.

Your story sounds similar to mine, my wife thought I bumped my head when I told her I wanted to look at a Ram. She sat in it one time and was sold. The test drive made her not want to get back into my F150. Ended up getting one about 2 weeks ago and it's hands down the nicest vehicle I've ever owned and I've always had nice cars and trucks. The air ride suspension rides like a luxury car and it rides more like an independent rear suspension than a solid axle. Go drive one and you'll be impressed, even the standard coil spring suspension is an upgrade to anything in the market.

I wouldn’t even consider one until I can see the safety ratings. The previous generation did terrible, so I don’t have much hope for the new generation.

See below. Websites will entice you with stupid low pricing but once you read the fine print youll realize you're not getting the crazy deal you thought

Happened to me too, saw a billboard that was offering $18,000 off an f150 so i sent them an email. Got a reply back and i pretty much had to be in the military, costco member, cash buyer, platinum or limited buyer and i had to give up my first born too

My son bought a Limited Ram a couple of years ago and traded it in yesterday for a 2019 Limited and I am really blown away by these trucks. For the first time in probably 15 years I am considering making the jump.

Side note the LED headlights on his Limited destroys the output of my factory 2017 Ford LEDs.

Just to compare apples to apples, had a 13 platinum, now have a 18 ram longhorn, basically price driven. The 18 ram interior is nicer than the platinum I had and is still nicer than the 15 and up f 150's. That by the way is an interior that has been around since 2009 or 10. Would never have owned a ram until drove one and saw price difference. They are really nice trucks and that is an 18. .02 cents worth.

I beg to differ, both of the Ram's I owned were junk. Engine issues, transfer case issues, electrical issues. I was on a first name basis with the flatbed operator from the local tow company.

Fun story, had an engine issue in my second one at 6500 miles, FCA requested a receipt for an oil change before they would approve the repair. The manual doesn't even require one until 12 months or as indicated on the dash. I had just got one at 5K so I gave them the receipt anyway, but why the hassle?
