Default Rusting Gorillas

Have had these on about a year ago. put on and not taken off. Put them on with ratchet and torque wrench. No impact. Part numbers on nuts is
61148cx.
Next time i need solid lug nuts, I'll be looking at another brand.

McGard's, I have had black ones on my truck for a little over a year and they still look great.

They rust because they are not solid. The cap on top a polished stainless steel and is pressed unto the top of the nut. On my truck, the nut rusted on the inside, then the rust seeped through the seam to the outside and discolored the chromed portion of the nut. It easily cleaned up with a little chrome cleaner, but what a pain in the you-know-what.

If you look closely you can see the seam.

you can either buy gorillas or comparable cheap nuts every 1-2 years so they aren't rusty, you can buy mcgards which wont rust, you can can just leave them rusty cause whatevs

I threw my gorilla lug nuts away after 1 year of use due to rust. Been happy with the McGards. Gorilla = crap

Here is a picture of that lug nut. You can clearly see the seam. I don't care what their catalogue says. And yes this is the same part number and it is stamped on the side of the bulge.

It's funny how on this forum Gorilla nuts went from being the best thing since sliced bread to being cheap crap in the last year. Glad I didn't follow the crowd.
