AFAIK, McGards are the only lug nuts made in the US.

I have Gorilla lug nuts and the quality is subpar in comparison to McGard's I've owned in the past.

No rust yet on my Gorillas at about 3 years old. Way better than the sheet metal covered OEM crap where 2 of 20 nuts distorted the first time a shop used an impact gun on them.

I didn't go with McGards because the seat diameter is much smaller than OEM. That makes me uneasy.

If the seat is much smaller it isn't a "bulge" style lugnut and is incorrect. It may work fine but it won't have the as engineered amount of torqued clamping force between lugnut and wheel because of the smaller amount of contact.

I just put black gorilla lug nuts on a week ago. I guess I will see what happens. I live in Wisconsin, so everything will eventually rust.

Before I bought mine last year I looked at several threads and on the McGard site and did not see any with a comparable seat area. Has this changed, or did I just miss it? If I remember right some of the McGards required a different size wrench as well.

Mine rusted after the first winter in Ontario. I just sprayed a bit of rust guard oil spray on them and it's gone but now I have a greasy spot on the rim around each one that collects dirt. As others have said, still better then the OEM capped nuts.

I purchased the McGards below from Summit Racing. Best price I found for them. Please note: They are the "Bulge" style. Also give your nuts a little break and throw a couple coats of polish on them before installing! BTW I bought the black.

guess I'll find out too. Just installed Gorillas on both mine and hers. Even after one winter, the OEMs on hers were already rusting from the inside and had some trouble getting the lug nuts off.
