I will not run E-85 in anything! My truck says no more than 2o% anyway but I will never use it! I work for a company with 27 convent stores and have seen what it can do to dispensers made for the stuff we do not even sell it! Besides its 30cents more a gallon here!

The Ecoboost say no more than 20%. The 3.5NA and 5.0 can run E85 carding to ford safely. My understanding this is what eats rubber and gaskets. I wish I could get gas without it.

I ran a tank of REC9 (90oct 0% Ethanol) in mine and while it did set the record for the highest MPG of any tank I've run, it was only by 1mpg (5% improvement) over standard 87oct 10% regular gas.

Since the 'Pure Gas' cost 1 dollar MORE per gallon than regular, it's not even close to worth it from a pure economic standpoint.

Then what would explain 300,000 miles with 50%+ ran on E-85 without a single problem over 9 years? It is not "corn syrup" it is distilled alcohol and a very good cleaning agent also. I was just pointing out that my truck runs better on E-85 than on regular gas. My tailpipe is spotless on the inside also. I'm already at 15,000 miles on my '15 anyway. I'm sure others have had the same experience if the truck was made and designed to run E-85.

To each his own! They were clean the ethanol storage tanks a where we load fuel at and after seeing the black sludge they were getting out of the tanks I'm not using it

Stihl cuts it carburetor warranty to one year if you use ethanol in trimmers or saws. That should tell you how long it takes to destroy gaskets and diaphragms. That is with only 10% or less.

We don't have E85 here or I would use it in my truck, it's a base 3.5 NA and designed to run E85. It would make sense for me. A little more power for less cost even after you factor in lower MPG.

We do have E10 and I use that in my turbo Subaru, it likes it just fine and its a 95 from way before ethanol, no issues in 50,000 miles of E10.

That is correct. There is no ethanol-free gas in Austin AFAIK.
