Default Rummble strip. Torque Convertor?

Hey Guys. Ive got a 2016 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with 219xxx Km and getting a rumble strip type vibration for a few seconds in 4th and 5th gear. Not under any heavy acceleration and doest feel like a misfire type problem. Happens in both 2wd and 4wd but where it isn't as noticeable is in tow haul mode. From my understanding the torque convertor is disengaged more so during this to prevent overheating, correct? This is what leads me to think it might be the problem. Any suggestions?
My last oil change my shop recommended I change my trans fluid as it was dark, havent had a chance to do that yet so maybe that will solve the issue. But I do have a powertrain warranty that covers transmission and torque convertors so if it's going out would like to be dealt with now.

I had the same issue at 120k miles. I installed a new b&m deep pan, gasket, and Mercon LV fluid and it fixed it. After you change it, give it about 100 miles to fully mix the remaining fluid and the new as mine was immediately better but kept getting better more I drove.

Drop pan replace with pan with drain plug. New fluid for what is lost. New filter. One tube of lubegard. One new gasket. After another 20,000 drain fluid again and replace what is lost add 1 tube of lubegard.

As others stated, transmission service should fix it. It fixed mine without the lubeguard. I'll probably price a good pump vs a pan w/plug and do this myself next time around. Was too lazy to mess with it and just took it in for tans/rear diff service at 87k.

Trans shop told me after driving and checking fluid that it needs a new transmission. Didn't sit right with me so went back to my normal shop and they are doing a trans service next week. My question is, is it reasonable to jump to the conclusion that it needs a full re build and not just a torque converter?

It probably doesn’t need either one. Just do the service all steps and it will be fine. Don’t skip the new filter and only ford fluid. Let us know how it goes. This has work for many including me. Still going strong!

I had the same issue and it needed a new torque converter. Many others have solved the problem with a fluid change. However, I have the Ford ESP so I just got the torque converter replaced. If I was paying out of pocket I probably would try the fluid change first to see if that works.

If you do not have any history of changing the fluid, it's certainly worth a shot first.

Did the dealer just replace the torque converter without attempting a fluid change first?
