Default Rock Chip

Found a rock chip today, looks like I will be looking for someone to fix it. I think it can be repaired, it has not spread. I don't know if the mobile ones are OK to use, they may not come out to my house as I live on an island. Anyway I am hoping it can be repaired, I saw some do it yourself kits but I am not sure how good they would be.

I used the permatex kit on my wifes Jeep and it worked perfect. In bright sun you could see the tinyiest spec.

Sorry I didn't take pics. The kit cost $15, if you are not happy...just pay up and get it replaced.

Most insurance will try to fix it for free.

Yes this too. My problem is it was too close to the edge of the glass and every shop refused.

Fix it asap.

I got hit 4 times, 2 chipped, two really cracked. In my neck of the woods, I'm sure that the day I'll get a new windshield, I'll get hit again....
so I wont bother until law enforcement gives me a hard time.

Yea, Not if you have one of the windshield cameras, It's a PIA to get a shop who can replace a windshield, and then recalibrate that. So you get the new windshield, then pay for a trip to the dealer for camera readjustment.

Yes, I think I will calla shop when they open this morning, I would rather not have to change the windshield, I worry about the shop getting the camera set-up correct.

I've used Pitstop in the past, or something very similar to it. Got it at Autozone I think (it's been a while). Worked for me, cost like $10, took maybe 15 minutes to do.
