Default Reverse sensor

Is it possible to turn up the sound from the rear sensor? On my old truck the radio would be muted and the back up sound would be loud. I am partially deaf in my right ear and could use the extra loudness. I cannot find any setting on the dash of the info panel or in the manual. Would this be something the dealer can turn up and set the radio to mute when I back up?

Any ideas please let me know.

Thanks

I find mine will turn down the radio only when it begins to beep. My kids really do not like it, as the sound comes from the back seat.

Have you tested it? It doesn't turn down the volume the entire time you are in reverse. Only when it begins to beep.

My 2011 mutes the radio when the sensors detect an obstacle. Even though it is an aftermarket radio. The 2015 should do the same.

I am having the same issue. It almost seems like something that should be plugged into the radio is not. I have the Sony/MFT system. Please post again if you are able to have the problem solved.

It is still with the ford csm and I am supposed to hear back on Monday, but yes I am with you that is seems like something is not plugged in right, same system as you. I did notice on the cross traffic alert that it is loud and mutes the radio.

Thanks. I haven't had the cross traffic alert go off yet, but I'll pay attention to that and see. Looking forward to hearing the outcome. My dealership sometimes needs suggestions to find a problem/fix.

Just received a call from the Ford CSM, after he talked with the ford engineers, there is nothing they can do to turn up the volume. The sound does not come from the rear speakers but from a module behind the rear seats. There is no way to turn the sound up as it is not programmable.

Thanks for the update. Poor design if you ask me, and not how the manual says it will work. It worked better on my 2007 truck. Also works better on my wife's 2014 Explorer. At least there is the camera.

I mentioned that it turns the volume down a little and therefore must have a interface of some sort but the CSM empatically stated that the module does not do that. At this point I realized that he was not too engaged in assisting so I thanked him and hung up. I believe that the low volume is something I will have to live with. Thankfully I come from a era where you always watched and checked before backing up. The additional sound was nice to have but in no way affected the use of the vehicle.

I believe that the Ford CSM's role on this site is to collect data first and then push the case up the chain. I may be wrong but this is the feeling I have.
