Very helpful stuff. Would you have the description of the colors? Some are obviuos others not so sure. I looked at my door lock connection c505 the colors are the same as the diagram. Im comparing a picture of my 22 pin connection and they seem different then the chart but not sure if its the picture.

Parts ordered today. Now time to watch videos on how to remove door panel and install the new harness. Then on to learning forscan and getting codes lined up. By the way many of the part numbers are the same for 2018 and the 2017

It was a fairly easy job, took me about 2-3 hours but I have not wired in the power extend.

I found a great picture of the door panel thats helping me prep for the operation.
I hope you get your power extend sorted out. I'm doing the none extend mirrors myself. Might dadble in the auto fold feature also, lets see how it goes. first I need to learn forscan.

This thread is very empowering lots of good folks helping each other out. When I'm done I hope I can contribute to it.

Yet another question. The passenger c505 c541 modification, do I have to do that on the passenger side as well?

I have a 2015 XLT with non-tow, non-power folding, and the 22 pin connector. How much do I need to change to get power fold (and extend?) tow mirrors? I’ve been following this thread for a while but have become lost in all the talk about modules, and 8pin/22pin connectors. I’m just looking for a high level idea of what may be needed now; Re-pin? New modules? New harnesses?

Thanks guys, and don’t try too hard for me, still deciding if I should put this on the wish list or not.

From what I have read. you need control modules one for each door they are passenger and driver specific. two lariat harnesses again specific to each door. A new window switch with power fold extend. Two new mirrors. and a slight modification to the driver side harness possibly both harnesses to allow the door locks to work properly. also you will need to make some connections under the dash and in the engine compartment to allow the power extend retract to work.

I have not complete any of this work, I am gathering parts and knowledge at this point but feel pretty good about doing it. I am not installing power extend retract mirrors only power fold.

Hope this helps.

No

I should mention when you install the Lariat door harnesses, you will have 2 connectors that won't be used: ambient lighting and door switch as XLTs don't have these features
