Replacement Question
What was explained to me by the representative was that if I chose buyback then it would be based off of my specific deal that I got through the dealership. Whatever I paid between down payment and amount financed combined, plus any finance charges refunded as well. After they add all that up they take off I believe $.35 per mile, plus overcharging you for every single little hairline scratch and every tiny scuff in your interior. I found that they ignore most typical wear and tear damage if you do a replacement. But they really try to bend you over for every dime they can if you do buyback.
I had three hairline scratches no longer than the length of a credit card that could easily be buffed out by a professional. I had a spot on my glove box that looked like a sharp edge had hit it about the size of a BB, and two water spots on the backseat that I ended up cleaning out myself in less than 5 minutes.
They wanted $2837 to "fix" all of that when I talked buyback, but when I decided to go replacement they just waived the damages as "normal wear and tear".

No problem. Just clean (deep scrub) your interior and have someone polish out all the scratches they can and then take it down a dusty backroad before you go in. Harder for them to see the small stuff that way.
Also, did they tell you that you were limited to just an F150, or could you get a F250, explorer etc?
I would suggest finding the applicable law for your state and reading it carefully, versus relying on people's experiences. Being able to quote chapter and verse will make it clear that you've done your homework, and allow you to avail yourself of every option you've got.
Oh I've read TX law on this down to the T, just getting someone's experience on it
The different state laws would change his experience with getting Ford to agree to replacement under the lemon (LAW) for his state, but once the need to replace has already been established and Ford has agreed to do so, the replacement process is the same throughout the states.
been there, done that, working on my second buyback now
ill give you the abridge version
2015 purchased in 2016 for $31,000 + $6,000 trade, I chose the replacement option
I got 105% of the MSRP, not what i paid, towards a new vehicle
they tried to hit me with mileage and i argued i would have kept the truck if there were no issues, however being that i am being loyal to ford i would expect them to wave the charge
they did
41,000 x 1.05=43,050
new truck MSRP was 44,915
I also had installed equipment i was not goitn to remove and so they did credit me back that money as well
it was for stereo equipment so i got $1050
43050+1050=44,100
I had to pay $900 plus the difference in taxes
6% of 44915-31,000= 13,915 taxed is $834
end result it cost me $1734 to get a new truck with more options
