Honestly, at a $600 difference I'd just "politely" mention the trouble you've been through and that the closest match you could find was $600 more and ask them to waive the $600 extra. My truck was $4500 extra and in the process of explaining to the lady that they shorted me $500 on my MSRP of my window sticker because Ford accidentally left the factory bed liner off, the lady actually ended up taking $2500 off of the total difference. Leaving me with only $2k out of pocket.
ok so you only pay taxes on the MSRP difference?

nice! Ive read some places where people have said ford granted them "105%" on a msrp to msrp swap to kind of help cover the rise in cost of different year models, did you hear any of that? or was it straight up only to current truck MSRP

Unless my rep was clueless, that was not the case. No extra for model year difference. But like I previously said, if you are nice and you come up with a good "reason" to ask for them to waive some (or all if it isn't several grand) of the difference they definitely will do that for you.

I see. I just double checked and it would appear that truck is sold, and the other one Im considering is $1600 more not including taxes. Hopefully they will waive that and let me snag it. Im trying to have all of this ready for when they call we can get the ball rolling if I go replacement route.

I assume if you had to chose something less MSRP than your current truck, you just lose out on that money?

Yeah. Just be super polite and explain to the lady that the current lemon has already cost you money, and that the one you are looking at is the closest MSRP replacement you could find, but that you don't have the money to pay for all of those extra options that you didn't really want in the first place. They'll help you out.

What if you chose something less your original msrp? They ever touch on that?

That's not allowed under their policy. Has to at least match MSRP.

gotcha! did they discuss buy back options with you? Ive seen where they said they would pay MSRP+your principle payments then - the milage usage fee to get your end amount. Sound about right?

What was explained to me by the representative was that if I chose buyback then it would be based off of my specific deal that I got through the dealership. Whatever I paid between down payment and amount financed combined, plus any finance charges refunded as well. After they add all that up they take off I believe $.35 per mile, plus overcharging you for every single little hairline scratch and every tiny scuff in your interior. I found that they ignore most typical wear and tear damage if you do a replacement. But they really try to bend you over for every dime they can if you do buyback.
I had three hairline scratches no longer than the length of a credit card that could easily be buffed out by a professional. I had a spot on my glove box that looked like a sharp edge had hit it about the size of a BB, and two water spots on the backseat that I ended up cleaning out myself in less than 5 minutes.
They wanted $2837 to "fix" all of that when I talked buyback, but when I decided to go replacement they just waived the damages as "normal wear and tear".
