Here's the link (not trying to be a wise guy but you didn't post anything about your truck)

Key replacement was one of the things I made sure to have included on my Ford ESP warranty for just this type of situation

Key + programming to the truck == $250

I think I will just diligently keep track of my one remaining key
Post a note on the church bulletin board offering $100 for the return of the key and they can keep the coat!
The 'thief' obviously didn't know you would leave your $250 keep to your $65,000 truck unattended! Just the same, you didn't expect to be in company of a thief!

Once they realized they had the FOB they probably didn't know how to return it.

The positive in all this though is that you still get to drive your truck. Seems it's been overlooked that the owner of the FOB can choose a Sunday to drive home in new-to-them truck. Or if they know who you are -they can take it at any time they wish (unless you're garaged).

I'd honestly plan on replacing the key you have with a new one. Not a 2nd, a new one. That way you never have to wonder when you're truck will drive off.

I picked up a used key(switchblade) at the local salvage yard for $10, found new uncut blades on the internet, got two for I think it was $8, maybe $13 can't remember. My dealer cut the key for $25, it's the one I use now. Still have the second blade stored in my console.

Bought a Ford Edge from a friend 2 years ago who lost one of the original keys, bought a new on on the internet for $25 and had a local lock shop program it for $40. I use it every day. So you don’t need 2 originals for programming just one. My local Ford dealer told me the same thing just one key.

You need 2 programed keys to program a 3rd if you use the programming method shown in the owners manual. The dealer or locksmith can do it without having 2 programmed keys by using an IDS or similar scan/programming device.
